This is the final leadership characteristic that my client wrote down.
Belief #5. The leader has it all together.
This belief is heavily steeped in how others see my client. He looks around and perceives that other leaders appear to have everything under control. He acknowledged that he was focused on how he looked rather than who he was being. He made the distinction between having it all together versus being aware and approachable.
Distinction #5. Have it all together vs. Be aware and approachable.
Being outwardly focused meant he was distracting himself from being aware of his own thoughts and behaviors. He also recognized that being guarded with this team made him less approachable, which meant he didn't has his finger on the pulse of his group.
