There is nothing more helpful than approaching people problems as a coach. Coaches are masters of asking powerful questions. They listen at a very deep level so they take in tone, body language, words, energy, and micro-expressions to craft a question that nudges people to reflect and discover insights they'd never considered. One tip I tell people who want to try to ask powerful questions is to begin with "what" or "how". These types of questions require the asker to decide what it is that they really want to know and the answerer to really listen and then think about how to respond. Instead of, "Why did you say that?", try "How did you come to that conclusion?" Instead of, "Why do you always jump to conclusions?", try "What other options are possible?"
