Build Discomfort Muscle
I'm enrolled in a coaching mastery program where I get to coach in front of other high level coaches and receive feedback on my skills. Over and over, I have received the feedback that I'm not as effective when I am in my head, but I am really powerful when I can drop into my heart. It reminds me of the saying that how we do anything is how we do everything. For me, this means that I have spent most of my life trying to prove how smart I am, which had me living in my head. I know that my impact is far greater when I can operate from my heart, but I am so much more comfortable in my head. It protects my heart from getting hurt, so it's really uncomfortable for me to operate from this new perspective. However, I am willing to build up my tolerance for discomfort, AKA discomfort muscle, in order to be better, gain more confidence, and have more impact.
