Get Into Possibility
If you want to kill a conversation, just tell people you are a life coach. I promise, people will suddenly look for an escape or a reason to change the subject. And I get it. I used to be one of those people. I've found a way to talk about what I do by describing the world of possibility that I create for myself and my clients. For instance, instead of focusing on the risks and fears of quitting a corporate gig, my clients explore the possibilities of living a life not tied to inflexible schedules, dysfunctional working environments, and feeling like cogs in a wheel. We dream about the life they'd love to have, what it would look like, feel like, sound like. The more my clients explore the possibilities, the more energy they feel. It's a much more exciting conversation and people don't go running for the exits.
